Great article Scott - Making sure you're both visible and active across a number of diciplines in my opinion is vital. Although people like you and I use many of them, most of the people we connect with probably only stick to one or two at most so by limiting our use of the channels we will almost certainly miss opportunities.:)

Thanks Colin for the kind words - although let me point out that "all this is the marketing I need to do to survive" is not strictly true

Being multi-touch in the first instance just costs the time to be available through various channels. But these all SUPPORT the main message - they are not the message itself.

More important than these is having something that compels customers.

Consider this: people unite around three things:
1. common person
2. common cause
3. common enemy

Which are you using? Health and super living is a major cause - you need to accentuate that cause.

Hi Scott. Yes, this is a new way of thinking for old-school internet people like me who have had a web site for 8 years, but essential for survival. I started by linking my web site to an external shopping cart. I now have an all-singing-all-dancing web site that does things all-in-one. I am now working through the multi-touch process with Newsletters, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Just started on Article Marketing. Still to do are RSS, Social Bookmarking and possibly podcasting. And all this is the marketing I need to do to survive.

Keep up the great blogs. You are a thought leader!

Best wishes Colin Winstanley

p.s. I'm in the picture above just left of centre.
