The Road

Inside I sit safe, away from the cloud of rain beating down on the car.
The therapeutic tapping,
The wipers cleaning the window clear.

Sat in the chair,
Sleep written all over my eyes,
My mind wanders solo.

The black of night surrounds me,
Like a wound wrapped in a bandage,
Yet from this I feel comfort and security.

Along this road I encounter no other,
No other,
Only the beauty of the world do I see.

Grace and calm are my allies as I gaze out of the window,
Endless fields and hills to the horizon,
Majestic clouds covering them all.
